Thank you to our wonderful and vocal membership who voted on the merger proposal. With 49% of the eligible membership voting, 76.1% (569 votes) said YES to the proposal, and 23.9% (179 votes) said NO.
The merger with People's Food Co-op of La Crosse is approved and supported by the membership of the Rochester Good Food Store. As we turn our attention to the merger and expansion plans, we celebrate the opportunity to strengthen the cooperative community in Rochester. We look forward to gathering member input on the upcoming project.
The merger of our community-owned food co-ops will benefit the regional food economy, strengthen both stores, and enable the Rochester store to pursue a more viable location near Soldiers Field in downtown Rochester.
Both the RGFC and the PFC are community-owned grocery stores, featuring local, organic, fair-trade and other 'clean' products.
